FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION

What is a Functional Capacity Evaluation?
How do I know if I need one?

A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a set of tests, practices and observations that are combined to determine the ability of an injured worker to function, most often with regards to employment in an objective manner. They are used in some cases to determine a worker’s level of ability/disability. Evaluations typically last 4-8 hours and are specific to the person’s injury and job role. An FCE can determine how you return to work, under what circumstances, and with any accommodations if necessary.
